Jasper Bailey

Jasper Mynique Baidy-Bailey, 34, was born on June 20, 1983 in St. Louis, MO to parents Lionel Raymond Bailey, Sr. and Renee Luella (Anderson) Bailey. He departed this world on Friday, October 27, 2017 in Austin, Texas.

Jasper was baptized into the Agape Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1997, where he began to enhance his skills for music by attending Drum Line competitions with Bro. Keith Evans and learning more about playing the piano from Bro. Walter Young. Art was also a great passion of Jasper’s. Whenever the time came for the Adventist Youth Temperance Contest, he was front and center ready to showcase his drawing abilities.

Jasper was a free spirit and very much a people person. Interacting well with others and meeting new people was very natural for him. He had an outgoing and extroverted personality. Jasper never met a stranger. He was such an engaging individual that others felt comfortable around him. Being a handsome young man with hazel eyes and very deep dimples didn’t hurt either. Jasper told his father that he wanted to donate his eyes and his heart. His talents were many. Music and art were among his passions. Poetry was another.

Jasper exhibited courage that few people have, traveling around the country not knowing who he would meet or where he would live. Traveling in such an unconventional manner became yet another one of Jasper’s many passions. Jasper became enthusiastic and infatuated with his travels. He would often tell stories of the many people he met from diverse backgrounds, races, cultures, nationalities, and ethnicities. He was a loving young man and love emanated from Jasper everywhere he went. Jasper was a unique and eccentric young man who spent his adult life trying to find his place. His was a spiritual journey.

Jasper was the fourth youngest of his siblings. His brother, Daniel Mynique Baidy-Bailey, preceded him in death.

Jasper leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Renee L. Bailey; father, Lionel R. (Gloria) Bailey, Sr.; brothers, Andrew (Tammy) Logwood, Lionel (Tiffany) Bailey, Jr., and Tharon D. Bailey; sisters, Dominique (Tommy) Oglesby-Valiant and Shonecia R. (Niecy) Bailey.

Jasper loved his family immensely and was fortunate to have the loving family that he had. No matter when he arrived back home, they always greeted him with open arms. Never knowing when he would knock at their door. His parents, siblings, and church family always greeted him with love, acceptance, and assistance. Jasper loved his entire extended family, too. All of his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends loved and cared deeply for Jasper. Over the years, many family members and others prayed for Jasper while he was on the road. He left here knowing that he was loved by many. Jasper will truly and greatly be missed!!!

To the Bailey family make God surround you with His Love, Lift you with His grace, and comfort you with His peace.
Remember nothing can separate you from the love of God

    Romans 8:38-39(NLT)

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jasper… i just found out tonight… i will always remember you… i pray to be counted worthy to see you again in paradise… though i grieve right now with a sadness i haven’t felt since my daddy passed… i thank and bless YAH for HIS divine appointment with us… what HE showed me through you… the significance… and what i regret i didn’t get to enjoy with you… what more the Lord could have done… i cannot change yesteryears …but i can reflect fondly on you, my brother and friend… I’m sorry i couldn’t be more to you then… the sorrow is mixed with gratefulness for what HE allowed in less than 48 hours… our fellowship… all you understood and all i did not… i see more today than yesterday and i weep but i know how mightily the Lord used your willing LIFE…
Blessings to all of your family….
