Joan Christine Smith, 71, after a short battle with lung cancer and other illnesses, passed away on June 29, 2023, at Bethesda Southgate Nursing/Hospice Home, 5943 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO 63129.  She was born April 26, 1952 in St. Louis, MO.  Joan attended Roosevelt High School and later obtained her GED and also attended medical assistance school.  Beloved daughter of the late John Orrick and 

Virginia (Daniel) Smith. Dear sister of the late Judith Urban. Beloved by her surviving siblings: Timothy (Cynthia) Smith, Patricia (John) Bendick,

Therese (Dave) Mercer, Carole (Abdulgader) Shuaib and David Smith.

Dear Aunt to: Jessica, Jeff, Sam, Ben, Ericka, Angie, Matthew, Adam,

Hamzah, Sarrah, Anisah, Melanie and Michael.  Also, Dear Great Aunt of 14 nieces/nephews.  A family memorial service will be planned at a later date.
