John Spencer Varnon passed away July 16, 2023 at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Missouri. John was born October 10, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri to Glenda (Hammers) and James Stanley Varnon. Both parents predeceased him.

He is survived by his daughter Brooklyn, sons Johnathan, Jacob (Faith Waid) and Joey Varnon; his granddaughter Karah Waid; brothers Curtis (Julie) and Mike (Charlene)  Brooks; sister Tracy Brooks; special aunts Ruth Carroll and Nita Varnon Roodman, as well as a host of additional relatives. John was an uncle, great uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.

John was employed by Handi-craft. He enjoyed his work there and thought highly of his employer and co-workers.

John’s spirit was carefree and loving. Although he had a somewhat rough exterior, he had a kind and gentle heart. He loved to tinker with old cars, trucks, motorcycles and practically anything with moving parts. He was very giving and generous. Often teased as being a bit of a pack rat, he enjoyed finding interesting items and then sharing them with friends and family. He loved to read, to write poetry, and to watch documentaries. Most of all he dearly loved his family and was so proud to be Karah’s grandfather. His granddaughter was one of his greatest joys in life. The family was blessed in unexpected ways by having John in their lives. He will always have a special place in our hearts.
