John W. Parks

John W. Parks passed away on September 17, 2015 at Delmar Gardens North in Black Jack, Missouri.

John was the son of the late George and Mary Parks. He spent his childhood moving from place to place with his family, since his dad worked for the government. He spent time in Washington D.C., New Mexico, California and places in between.

People who knew John remember him as being fiercely intelligent and very independent. At a young age he got his Bachelor’s degree from Cal-Tech. He took his engineering knowledge to McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) where he was employed for many years, during which he helped out with the Nasa Space program designs that helped put a man on the moon.

Later in life, John enjoyed classic cars and he spent his time hanging out with his buddies in North St. Louis County (where he lived) who shared his hobby. Although he had been actively diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he kept his spirit until the end.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held.
