Larry Eugene Colvin Jr.
Larry Eugene Colvin Jr. (7/23/60 – 9/02/18) Passed away at the age of 58 at Mercy Hospital. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
He is survived by his wife Christine, daughter Brittney (Shane) and grandchildren Gage and Scarlett, daughter Sydney (Devon) and grandson Logan, step-son Zack and granddaughter Sophia, step-daughter Caila and granddaughter Natalie, one sister Lisa, 3 brothers Craig, Chad, Adam and numerous nieces and nephews, friends and colleagues.
He is preceded in death by daughter, Alexa Rose and parents Joyce and Larry Colvin Sr.
Larry was retired from his career as a licensed electrical contractor in St. Louis County and sole-proprietor of Colvin Electric Co.
Larry was always a most generous and giving person. Whether it be a hand out, or a hand up he was always there and willing to help in any way he could.
Larry loved the feel of the open road before him as he rode his motorcycle. Whether it be in Hawaii, Vegas, Milwaukee , the Great River Road in Grafton, a cruise to the wineries or just the back roads of Missouri and always with his “back warmer and best friend”.
Larry was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and preferred the challenge of bow hunting over the use of a gun. He especially LOVED to fish…put that man in a boat on a lake with a rod and reel in his hand and he was one happy guy!
But for all his outdoorsmanship….I believe, above all else, what he loved most was…his YARD! And four months ago, he got a new yard and challenge, spending the next 4 months turning a barren waste into beautiful surroundings…with all 47 solar lights shining at night!
He is dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Sorry for your loss. I pray the Lord gives you comfort in this time. I wish I could have spent more time with Larry and maybe got a fish or 2.

I will always remember Larry as the fun dad. I’ll cherish the numerous bbqs and swims. He really had a sense of humor and his laugh was contagious. Definitely spoiled his girls and truly loved to be a dad. May the wind always be at your back, may the sun shine upon your face, may the road take you through the wonders of this world. RIP uncle Larry.
Christine what a beautiful tribute to your husband and best friend. He was truly a special man. He was the happiest in his yard, whether watering his flowers or mowing the yard or just throwing tennis balls to Jake. I will miss Larry.
Will definitely miss this man. Had a lot of good time’s fishing you with for trout and bass. Mostly remember barbecuing and laughing after a long day of fishing. Have great picture of you on my office wall when we were fishing in the rain. Rest in peace my friend !!!!!
We miss you dearly Dad. I talk to you daily and even though you don’t talk back I can feel you there. I will cherish the memories we have and continue the holiday traditions you started with my kids. Thank you for my childhood. It was one of the best and if you ask my friends or Sydney they would agree. I will see you on the other side Dad. I love you.

What a beautiful tribute Christine. I’m sure it wasn’t difficult at all coming up with good things to say about Larry. It was probably harder to choose which good things considering the kind and gentle man that he was. Dad, we all miss you so much. Going through pictures of you brought back a lot of memories; it wasn’t the easiest but I’m so glad we did. If we didn’t go through all the pictures I would have forgotten how goofy you were. The way you dressed was ridiculous… ha. I also remembered all of the holidays, and the decorations. You really out did yourself every year; especially the year we got the ginormous snowman! I’ll always remember how you would decorate the carriage in the front yard for Halloween, and hide soooo many Easter eggs for me and britt. Hiding those spice girls in the BBQ pit was really sneaky. I think you really liked spongebob more than I did so I just used to watch it for you. When I was little you must have loved reading Harry Potter to me and taking naps, because that’s what I remember the most. Britt and I always talk about how the yard was always beautiful. You loved to plant flowers, even in your lasts couple weeks you had here. You and your 47 lights… ha. I bet heaven is looking extra beautiful because of you. I really miss you dad. Tell Alexa we all said hello and we love her. I’ll see you on the other side. Moogs loves ya.
