Latanya Gladys Harris was born on March 14,1956 to Leo and Lavern Horton in Detroit Michigan. She attended school in St. Louis Missouri.

Latanya was united in Holy Matrimony with David Harris on November 7,1997.

Latanya was affectionately known as “Tanya” in the neighborhood where she has resided for 30 plus years.

Tanya was always willing to help those in need. She’d lend an ear or give encouraging words. Latanya was a friendly soft spoken person, full of wisdom. She was well known and loved by the neighbors and friends in the community.

Latanya’s parents Lavern and Leo B Horton, as well as brother Avrelius Horton preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband David Harris. Sister Andrea Hall, two Brothers Lamont and Quinton, one Brother in Law Micheal Hall. Four Nieces Nikkia, Aja, Jada, and Iris. Four Nephews Avrelius, Lamont,  Quinton, and Tommy.

God saw the road was getting rough

The hill was hard to climb

He gently closed those loving eyes

And whispered “Peace Be Thine”

The weary hours the days of pain 

And sleepless nights have passed

The ever patient worn out frames 

Have found sweet peace and rest at Last 

Loving Memories…

You are not forgotten dear loved 

Nor will you ever be

As long as Life and Memory lost

I will remember thee

I miss you now and hearts are sore

As time goes by I’ll miss you more 

Your loving smile your gentle face 

No One can fill your Vacant place
