Lena Elizabeth Johnson
Entered into rest on June 21, 2017, at the age of 75 years old, Lena Elizabeth Johnson took her final breath at St. Louis University Hospital. She is preceded by her late husband Edward McKinley Johnson, Sr., parents Truie and Herschal Thomas, siblings Delores Poole and Robert Thomas. She is survived by significant other Lucinda Thurman (St. Louis, MO), sister Mildred Wilford (Omaha, NE), children Regina Richards (Madison, IL), Edward Johnson, Jr. (Orlando, FL), Laticia Gray (St. Louis, MO), Natasha Johnson (Breese, IL), Torrence Johnson, Sr. (Glen Carbon, IL) and Quiana Johnson (St. Louis), great-grandchildren Qeashaunda, Jasmine, Ashley, Joseph, Torrence Jr, Quiana, Zela, and Tiana, along with many nieces and nephews.
In her time here on Earth Lena had many accomplishment to include completing a certificate as a dietary aid, cook for 30 years, member of St. Louis Black Pride Organization, raised and adopted her 3 grandchildren, was honored with her daughters Bachelors of Sciences in Social Psychology and she lived and loved to the fullest.
Her party is set to commence on Friday, June 30, 2017, at 11:00am to 2:00pm at St. Louis Cremation Services, located at 2135 Chouteau Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103. The family asks that anyone who wishes to send food or flowers to please do so on the day. Also, guest are asked not to dress like they would for a funeral, but how they would dress for a party as those were Lena’s wishes.
The entire family has my and my families condolences on Lena’s passing . I had met her through her daughter Natasha , and became good friends with her daughter . My only wish is that I had known Lena better .
