Manuel Smith

On Friday, December 2, 2022, Manuel Smith, loving husband and father of four boys, passed away at age 71.

Manuel is survived by his four children Jeffrey (Kristen), Daniel (Christine), Steven (Sarah) and Nathan (Olivia) and his dearest grandchildren, Jackson, Sawyer, Layla, Adelyn, Jacob, Kylie, and Hannah. He was shared in death by his beloved wife, Sheila. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dolores, his brother Randy, brothers in law, Fred and Howard, and his sisters in law, Pat, Gerri, and Joan.

Manuel was born in Turon, Kansas where he grew up with his parents and four brothers. He went to college at Kansas State where he received degrees in Accounting and Computer Science. He spent his early career as a partner at Coopers & Lybrand. From there he worked as a Project Manager Consultant at Oracle and Express Scripts. In his later career he was an IS Group Manager at BJC. To keep himself busy after retirement he worked at Home Depot where he sold appliances.

Manuel was a wonderful husband and father. He had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh with his jokes and nicknames. He took pride in everything he did, including his home, hobbies and family. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent many of his weekends trout fishing the beautiful springs of Missouri and he especially loved his many trips to Branson and Destin with his family.

Manuel will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. We know that he is up in heaven fishing on the most beautiful stream you could imagine.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Manny. I worked in Atherton same department as Manny at BJC and thought highly of him. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Manny. We were second cousin in laws. Our families lost contact over the years. Many wonderful times were shared with the Meyer/Syberg/Luecke & Cheragotti family. My prayers are with and for the family.
