I regret that I can not attend the celebration of life for Mark. He made a positive impression on me while at Saint Louis University. He was missed when he left SLU.

Mark was an extremely wonderful guy. I first met him at his wedding, to my sweet cousin Michelle. They had a great connection to one another. We didn’t get to be together much over the years, but he was always a kind and lovely person to be around.
We will miss him greatly but I know he is watching down on his lovely Michelle
    He will truly be missed.

I worked with “Chef” for 3 years at Westborough Country Club, and he was, and has always been, one of the most special, and one of my favorite people that I’ve ever met. I developed such a great friendship with Mark, and I didn’t even work in the kitchen, I was a server! Chef had a way of making you feel so loved and cared for. Every day I went to work, he would always take a minute away from whatever he was doing to ask how I was and how my day was going. He would always give you his undivided attention and you knew that he was really listening to you and truly cared about you. If I was ever having a bad day, he would always give me a big hug, and Mark gave the greatest hugs! I can still feel that hug, that’s how good of a hug it was! My boyfriend, Eric Buss, worked in the kitchen under Mark, and chef was like a second father to him at work. Chef had accepted Eric after he recovered from Hodgkin’s disease in his teens that almost claimed his life. The job at the club literally helped him rebuild his life, and gave him so much pride. He learned so much from Mark, and really grew to love cooking and decided to make it his career. Several years later when Eric tragically got sick a second time with a terminal brain tumor, Mark was one of my biggest sources of support. He was the most caring men I have ever met, and you could always count on him to be there when you needed him!
Even after leaving the club and going on to work somewhere else and going on with my life on a different path from Chef, we remained friends and kept in touch through Facebook. He continued to support me by always liking my posts and showing his support for whatever I was doing at the time. We met up for coffee a couple of times also over the years, and he remained one of my favorite people to talk to and share life experiences with. He would always truly listen to me, make me feel special and important, and would try to give me advice and support whenever I needed it.
I was truly devastated to hear of his passing and could hardly believe it. I just still am having trouble accepting that he isn’t with us anymore. My heart goes out to his wife Michelle and all his family, I can’t imagine the pain they must be going through, but I do understand the gravity of his loss, because of how special of a person he was. My only comfort is knowing that he is up with Eric now, and I’m sure Eric was one of the first to greet him and do happy to see him again. I hope they are up there cracking jokes like they used to and laughing together, at peace, until we get to see him again. We love you Chef and you will be forever in our hearts and sorely missed! ♥️

Mark was truly the salt of the earth, everyone was family to him. Time is not measured in length , it’s in its quality, Mark made that with everything that he touched. He never spoke an ill word of anyone. Rest in Peace Chef, my deepest condolences to you Michelle and your family. JVK.

Michelle I wanted to express my condolences to you and Mark’s family. I watched the video and it seems like Mark accomplished quite a lot in his life time. I know so well the pain of losing your husband and know with God’s help I am walking this journey of grief. Always hang on to your memories and all the love you shared. Life is different now but continue to move forward I’m sure that is what Mark would want you to do.
