Jean was born to Nellie Viola Brandt (Busch) and Henry Willard Brandt in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in St. Louis in 1943. She married Fred R. Kleisly in 1947 and together they raised five daughters.

She is survived by her daughters Beverly Kleisly Stock (Mike), Kim Kleisly Foster, Gail Kleisly, Holly Kleisly-Rein (Dan), son-in-law Herb Bartels, 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred R. She was a gifted artist who enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening, flower arranging and design work. She used these skills in many volunteer and business endeavors over her lifetime. There was no match for her amazing parties, holiday decorations, costumes, artistic food, and snow days.

She maintained an “Open Door” policy and was always ready with food and hugs for all visitors.

Her family knows she always “Loved them more”!

Being friends with your mom will always be one of my greatest blessings. We shared many good times as well as sad and through it all she was always there for me. I trusted and respected her. Her parties were the best and included all ages. Jean’s greatest accomplishment was what a great job she and Fred did raising you five girls. Sending Love, thoughts and prayers.
