Marthellen Wargo
On Monday, Jan.4, 2021, Marthellen (Martie) Wargo, nee Neel, mother of 3 and grandmother of 4, passed away at the age of 80.
Martie was born Jan. 24, 1940 in Hettick, IL to Edith (Whipple) and Claudis Leon Neel. She graduated from Carlinville High in 1957. On June 4, 1961, she married Robert J Wargo. They raised 3 daughters, Dana Lynn (Wargo) Griffin, Kelly Ann (Wargo) Speckert , (husband Mark Speckert), and Elizabeth Adair Wargo in St. Louis, MO. Martie worked her way up the ranks to end her 25 yr work career as a District Manager for Famous Brand Shoes.
Martie loved her family above all else. Always with a smile and a funny saying or comment right up to the end. She took care of many and was loved by all.
Martie will be residing in heaven where it’s NOT “hotter than a boiled owl”! A fave Martie-ism.
In lieu of flowers please consider honoring Martie’s memory with a donation in her name to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Will miss her greatly.

Dana, I’m so sorry for your loss! Your mom was such a sweetie and always had a smile on her face. Just remember, as you were saying “goodbye” to her here on Earth, there were so many saying “hello” to her in Heaven. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

I worked for Marty in the early 90s and still share her sayings today. Her go-to line about me- “Ask her what time it is and she’ll tell you how to make a clock” ❤️
