Mary Adams
A bright and beautiful shining light in the world was taken from us far too soon on February 24, 2015 at the age of fifty-three.
Mary was the cherished daughter of Madeline Ryan and the late Michael D. Ryan; beloved mother of Melissa R. Adams (companion Mark McGavic); dear sister of Patricia (Howard) Shumate; Kathleen (David) Rivet and Susan (Michael) Reiter and loving companion to Dr. Paul Catanzaro. Dear niece of JoAnn Finnegan-Smithey and Patrick Finnegan. Mary was a wonderful aunt to Sarah Shumate; David, Michael and Madeline Rivet and Michael and Katherine Reiter. Mary is also survived by friends too numerous to list.
Mary dedicated 23 years to critical care nursing and leaves a lasting impact in our community.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at The Summit Church, 927 E. Terra Lane, O’Fallon, MO 63366. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the deGreeff Hospice House/St. Anthony’s Field Hospice Program at de Greeff Hospice House at St. Anthony’s http://www.sacf-giving.org/donate/donor.php.
Mary you were my sister’s best friend for nearly three decades. She loved you so and I was so happy I knew ye.
Safe journey. LLAP, all.

Mary, may you finally rest in peace. I thank God that you were in my life, all of my live.
Dear Mary, I will always remember the fun times that we had together with you and Paul. They are special memories, as Terry was still here and laughing and enjoying the music with us. Please say “Hi” to him in Heaven. God Bless you forever. Christie
Having known Mary from St Joe’s-Kirkwood, I can say that she was an advocate for her patients/families, as well as co-workers, when it came to health care needs. She was relentless in her fight to have THE BEST for them all. Her zest of life, her strong convictions, shone thru everything she said and did…what a gift to all the lives she touched! Her legacy lives on in Melissa, as well as Paul, her family and friends. May God bless you all at this most difficult time.
Rest in peace, Mary…your DragonFly-Inn friends will just remember the happy times for you and Paul, and that last Steelville concert at Wildwood Springs Lodge where we were able to see you one more time. These are the memories that will endure.
