Born in St. Louis, MO on December 21, 1947, Michael was the son of Bill and Velma (Hinkle) Nanna, both deceased. He served in the US Army from 1968 to 1991, and prior to that was an installer for Southwestern Bell Telephone in St. Louis, MO.

Michael was an avid outdoors man, hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Pate) Nanna of Fredericktown, MO; son Mark Nanna and wife Kim Ware of Kings Mountain, NC; brother Russell Nanna and wife Judy of St. Louis, MO; cousin Douglas Nanna of Fredericktown, MO, and beloved step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
