Nancy Johnson
Nancy Irene Johnson (Steins), 67, died February 13, 2024 from cancer.
Her husband Ron and their sons, Ben, Spencer, and Ryan thought the world of her. Nancy was known for her quick wit (Aunt B.) and sense of humor (Why such a long face?) up until her last moments. Nancy was very family oriented and imparted this onto her husband and children. She loved the holidays. She was a Room Mother, Den Leader, Substitute Teacher and PTO President. She was an avid reader and always had a book by her side. The kids have fond memories of her reading to them at bedtime (Dad just didn’t do it right). Her initial college major was Journalism and she loved to write. She won a writing contest and was very proud of this achievement. She was an on-line editor for many years. And of course she was never without a Diet Pepsi.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Francis (Bud) and Mary Ann Steins and her brother Tom (Debbie) Steins. She is survived by her husband Ron of 38 years; sons Ben, Spencer, and Ryan; sisters Peggy (Mitch) Whittle, Mary (Ed) Barr, Theresa Steins; brother Jim (Susan) Steins; and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
Nancy was a dear friend that I knew since grade school. I remember her great sense of humor and the fun memories we shared. Nancy will be truly missed.
Ron and family, I’m sorry for your loss. I too know Nancy from grade school days. She always made me laugh! She had a great sense of humor. Wishing you all comfort and Peace. You will be in my prayers.
Nancy and I became good friends when I attended 7th grade at St.Joseph, then Kennedy and Meramec. I was even there when she met Ron!
It is so sad that she had to deal with cancers for so long! Peace be with her. The Johnson & Steins families are in my prayers!!
Sending our deepest sympathies to your family, as we remember Nancy with fondness.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family. I pray that the Lord will surround and fill you with His Comfort and Peace.
Nancy was a beautiful person, so happy I had the pleasure of knowing her!
I will continue my prayers for her family.
God Bless 🙏
I have so many unforgettable and hilarious memories that involved Nancy- from her driving her GMC Pacer car (she referred to it as her ‘fishbowl’ car); to the many memorable parties and escapades when we were in our twenties; to remembering her love of books/reading; to her beautifully manicured nails and ‘perfectly coifed hair’ (with the use of lots of hairspray); to her droll and great sense of humor! Nancy was funny, kind, and had a zest for life! Nancy was an original!
She did find her happiness, love, and completeness in her husband Ron and her boys.
Nancy is at peace in Heaven. We all remember and love her 💕
