Patrick Oscar Brassel, Jr
Patrick Oscar Brassel, Jr. (77) of St. Charles, MO, was comforted by his only child, Christine, as he took his final breaths at Mercy Hospital on Monday, October 11, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Reba (Young) Brassel and his nephew, William E. Goodman.
He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and Air National Guardsman. Retired from U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command (ATCOM).
Those who knew Patrick well, knew the love he had for his country. He demonstrated this through his various roles in the military, and in supporting efforts thereafter. He often volunteered at the Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) Club. Whether it was to offload delivery trucks, clean, tend bar, or dress-up as Santa Claus (fooling even his daughter), he jumped into it with both feet.
Throughout his life he had many hobbies. His ability to share the love of his hobbies with the people he treasured, brought him a tremendous amount of joy. Patrick and his daughter share a passion for photography. Both enjoy flexing their mental muscles with logic and reasoning puzzles. He and his grandson, C.J., share a love of model trains. A common bond held with his son-in-law, Chad, granddaughter, Caiya, and grandson, C.J. is their fondness of video games. He was an avid golfer, who appreciated this time with his buddies, as much as he did playing the game.
Patrick is survived by his daughter, Christine (Chad) Ramsey, his grandchildren, Chad, Jr. and Caiya; sisters, Sharon “Sherri” (William “Bill”) Goodman and Kathleen “Kathy” (John) Garnett; his grandniece, Zoe; and his Nephew, Christopher “Chris” Stuckenschneider.
Funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. held at Sts. Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, 4112 McClay Road, St. Charles, Missouri 63304, on Monday, October 18, 2021. Prior to interment, military honors ceremony at 1:00 pm at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125.

Donating to military-focused charities was second nature to Patrick. It was simply another means of service he could offer, assisting his fellows and their families. We know we have his blessing when we request donations in lieu of flowers to go to the Wounded Warrior Project or Fore Honor Golf Course.
