Paul D. Donley

Paul D. Donley of Lake St. Louis passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Paul was born on December 3, 1935 to Frank and Gertrude (McAnulty) Donley in Niagra Falls, New York. On June 23, 1962 he married the love of his life, Nancy Elizabeth Hazlett in Dayton, Ohio. This past summer they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Together they have three children, Laura Donley Fowler (Gregory), Lynne Donley Chrismer (James), and Paul Douglas Donley (Alexandra). He has seven grandchildren; Katherine, George, and Charles (Fowler); Alec, Dylan, and Blake (Chrismer); and Lucy Donley. Paul’s younger brother Robert Donley currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.

In 1959 Paul graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Industrial Design. While attending the university he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. His artistic talents and creativity served him well in his career and as a hobby. He was an accomplished artist and collector. Paul originally was a designer for General Electric which eventually lead to a path in sales and ending as an entrepreneur and business owner.

Paul was an avid outdoorsman, with his greatest passion, sailing. In 1974 Paul moved his family to Lake St. Louis where he pursued his enjoyment of golf, fishing, cross country skiing and landscaping for the remainder of his life. He was a member Lake St. Louis Sailing Club, Lake St. Louis Ambassadors, and multiple golf leagues. Paul also volunteered his time with the Junior Golfers Association and helped establish the Junior Sailing Program.

There will be a service at Living Lord Lutheran Church in Lake St. Louis at 11:00 am on Monday, January 21, 2013. (500 Cedar Circle Drive, Lake St. Louis, MO 63367) Immediately following, there will be a reception at the Community Association Country Club.     Words cannot begin to express my feelings. I felt as he was a brother. We had many great times over the 51 years that I knew him.
    Rest well, we will see you again, eventually.

    What a lovely tribute to Paul and your marriage and family. It certainly seems that Paul had an amazing life which he thoroughly enjoyed. I am sure he will be missed by many.
