The most respectful and polite man. Wise beyond measure and the most patient with those around him. A wonderful grandfather to my best friend, and one of my favorite dinner hosts. He will be missed dearly, and fondly in our hearts. Bless his soul

Very kind and loving. Always was ready to listen and share himself with you. We are grateful to have known Uncle Dave’s brother Bob. May he rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, Bob. You always had a smile, a joke, a lovely story, a calm manner. You had so much knowledge and such a caring manner. You will be greatly missed by many people. I am so honored to have been able to know you and work with you for so many years when you volunteered at the Visitor Center in Forest Park. You were always ready to help everyone, and kept me sane when it got hectic. My sincere sympathy to the entire Matthes Family.

I had no idea that Bob passed away. We volunteered together at Forest Park Forever and enjoyed great conversation about everything. What a truly lovely guy. He made such an impact on so very many people.

Robert was such a great guy! We worked together many days at the Old Courthouse and the America’s Center. He would always bring me a pastry! I have missed him so much, but we kept in contact via email. We discussed so many topics because he was so interesting.
The world lost a truly wonderful man. I will see you at his party.

I always enjoyed being with Robert when we were both volunteers for the CVC. We often sat together on the bus during our Fam Trips. We was always such a gentleman and so much fun. I worked the shift after him at The Forest Park tourist center and he would usually stay with me there for a while so we could visit and laugh. The volunteer community of the CVC will surely miss him. He has been in my prayers since I learned of his being taken to God.
