Ronn Schmidt
Monday, June 13th, 2022, Ronald Lee Schmidt, devoted and loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 71. He did so knowing he was deeply loved,
Born on January 27, 1951 to Frank Schmidt and Virginia Treece Schmidt. Ronn attended Bayless High School. He met his future wife, Debbie, when they were teenagers. They married in 1972 and celebrated their 50th anniversary in January 2022. Together they raised their sons, Eric and Robert, who are so grateful for the love and upbringing their parents provided.
Ronn loved the time he spent with his wife, sons, close family and good friends. He enjoyed time outdoors, often saying, “like a plant, I grow toward the sun.” He spent his time improving, inventing, tinkering, and enhancing—himself, his relationship with others, and any old thing around the house. Had Ronn been paid for all of the things he be in built with his own hands instead of bought from a hardware store who knows how wealthy he may be. Intelligent, witty, and introspective, he taught himself to play guitar, banjo, and how to oil paint the beautiful landscapes filling his mind’s eye. Ronn loved Deb beyond life, his sons beyond their comprehension, his daughter in law, former daughter in law, and grandchildren to the moon and back, his family beyond separation and his friends beyond the laughs. He’d want all of those surviving him to keep growing toward the sun where you can feel his warm love.
Ronn was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Frank Dale. He is survived by his wife, Deb, two sons, his sister Rayma Coday, his brother, Kurt Schmidt, his grandchildren, Tyler, Brantley and Bexley, his brothers and sisters in law, a dozen nieces and nephews and his two cats, Simon and Florence.
In lieu of services, condolences, and flowers, Ronn requested that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
With condolences and sympathy to entire Schmidt Family.
We cannot find a heart big enough, nor a tear large enough to express our sorrow for your loss. We are so honored to have known both of you for the past 52 years. Ron was such a good man and a kind soul. We will miss his fascinating stories, the breadth and depth of his humor, and our close friendship.
