Roy K. Maddock
Roy K. Maddock, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 surrounded by his loving wife and seven children at Missouri Baptist Medical Center.
Roy was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 21, 1947. He attended St. Mary’s High School in South St. Louis graduating in 1965. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served for four years stationed at Vandenberg Air Force base in California. He was very proud of his time with the military and honoring our nation. Roy met the love of his life Rosalyn (Novara) Maddock and they were married on March 1, 1974. He devoted his life to raising his seven children alongside his wife, Rosalyn.
After serving with the United States Air Force, he spent his working career with Ralston Purina in St. Louis, MO. In 2005, after 34 years, Roy was ready to retire and spend his days enjoying time with his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. He also spent his retirement years working part-time for the Lindbergh School District as well as St. Louis Cremation. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends frequenting the YMCA, taking an occasional fishing trip, attending car shows to admire all the muscle cars and hotrods he so loved. He was a dedicated Catholic who attended mass every Sunday.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosalyn (Novara) Maddock; his seven children, Nick (Karlyn) Maddock; Mark (Sue) Maddock; Scott (Courtnie) Maddock; Jeffrey (Felicity) Maddock, Elizabeth (Kevin) Gilbers; Matthew (Nicole) Maddock; Jessica (Jacob) Jones and fifteen grandchildren (Allyson, Tyler, Zach, Emily Rose, Emma, Samuel, Solomon, Scarlett, Dominic, Vincent, Reece, Brody, Mila, Gunner and Isabella) who all adored him.
He was a loyal husband, dedicated and hard-working father, doting grandfather and dear friend to many. He will be forever missed and remembered as the funny and kind soul he was to all that loved him.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be held at St. Louis Cremation on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 6-8 pm located at 2135 Chouteau Ave. The funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 11th at 10:30 am at Mary, Mother of the Church located at 5901 Kerth Rd. A full military honors service will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the American Diabetes Association and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
I truly loved Roy and his precious family. Rosalyn and children you have my very deepest sympathy! Love and Prayers always.

Rosalyn and family I wish I could take away your pain and grief right now. Hold tight to the Lord he is the only one that can. No more pain, meds, Dr appointments for Roy. He is rejoicing in heaven and watching over his family.
Always such a warm smile and a positive presence at Lindbergh…thank you for sharing him with us in his retirement! My deepest sympathy to family and friends.

Condolences to Rosalyn & family. Judy & I worked with Roy @ Lindbergh HS, and we just loved how genuine & friendly Roy was. He & Mr. Nelson made a great impact on our students @ LHS. Roy’s smile and helpful personality was perfect for our hallways!
Very sad to hear about Roy. He was a source of smiles among all the cousins and a favorite godson of my mom, “Aunt Beatsie.” Fifty years ago this summer, he showed me a great time touring Vandenberg and waterskiing with his souped-up speedboat.
Roy was friend, co- worker and always there to help. His morning greetings at LHS always started my day with a smile.

Roy and I were friends in Lemay and saw each other for a few years after the family moved to the city. Great memories. Always good to run into Roy and various family members through the years. Peace be with Roy and your family.
