Sharon Stoer(nee Goodman) 1/14/2022

Sharon, passed away suddenly from complications due to Covid-19 on January 14, 2022 when she was just 62 years old.

Sharon dedicated much of her life to animal rescue with multiple organizations. For the last several years, she has been primarily been working with Needy Paws Rescue of St Louis, Missouri. She was an active board member and involved in the entire fostering and mentoring process. She worked tirelessly to ensure fosters were placed in good homes that matched their needs and often became good friends with many of those same families. Sharon’s love of helping others began when she became active in her local and national chapters of Nar-Anon, and she continued to have many close relationships with people she met along that journey.

Sharon is survived by Richard, her loving husband, of almost 42 years, by her children and step children: Jason B Stoer and Michelle J Biere, Richard (Jamie) Stoer Jr, Christine (Rodney) Becker, by her beloved grandchildren: Katrina Biere, Brianna Biere, Dylan Stoer, Richard R Stoer III, Jessie Stoer, Destiny Becker, Shana Becker, her mother, Carol Goodman (nee Rosner) and her sister, Tracey Perzan (nee Goodman), her mother-in-law, Loretta Stoer (nee McCay), her sisters-in-law, Mary “Suzie” (John) Casey, Joanne Stoer and Carol (David) Seward and brothers-in-law, Thomas (Paulette) Stoer and Mike (Lisa) Stoer, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her step-father, Stewart Goodman (2020) and her father-in-law, Benjamin Stoer (2017).

A memorial gathering will be held at a later time TBD.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She departed far too soon.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to please make donations of any size to Needy Paws Rescue in St Louis, Missouri. Anyone who knew Sharon understood that she had a special place in her heart for her fur-babies and would like to make sure that they are continued to be taken care of now and forever.

Sharon I miss you so much, and there are days I feel lost without you. You were taken from us and all the pups you have saved, entirely to soon. Please keep watch over us from above.

Sharon always made my fiancé and I laugh and smile with the stories of her little pups and their varying personalities. She was a hoot with a huge heart. My love and prayers go to her close friends and family.

I love you. I miss you. I was lucky to have known you. You were truly one-of-a-kind. You openly gave so much knowledge and caring. Our world is a little smaller without you, but you helped make us better people to cope with being without you. Thank you.

Sharon always said “She taught me everything I know” when referencing fostering. Little did I realize, at the time, how much more she taught me outside of fostering. So much to learn about life in general.

May God bring comfort and peace to her family. I met Sharon while looking for a new pet. She showed such dedication to the pet foster agencies she worked with. My prayers are with her family.🙏🏼
