Bette Kae Olms Powell Smith Paton
Bette Kae Olms Powell Smith Paton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on Saturday 2 April 2016 in O’Fallon, Missouri at age 79.
She is survived by: her husband, Tom Paton; son, Brooks Powell; daughter, Wendy Vandegriffe and family (husband Terry, sons Cody and Nicholas); brother, Doug Olms; cousins, Jan Brady, Kay Mattson, Susan Barbary, Julie Mcleod, Mary Ann Quick; and Bette’s beloved cat, Duchess who was with her through the end.
Bette was a member of the Creve Coeur Womens Club, a tutor for the OASIS program and a retired educator for the Hazelwood School District.

We are so sorry to here about Betty. She was the greatest person. We will miss her so much. I enjoyed seeing her every week and talking. Betty was a great inspiration and will be deeply missed. Betty had so much concern for others and loved to help in every way.

So terribly sorry, Brooks. As I said in my personal note to you, she was such a wonderful lady. I was honored to have met her, and to be able to spend some events and moments with her and you. Again, so terribly sorry; take care. I will see you on the 7th.
