Earl Stanley Miller Jr.

EARL STANLEY MILLER JR., affectionately known as Toco, born

March 19, 1973. He was second of two children born to the union of Valerie A. (Clark) Miller and Earl Stanley Miller. His father preceded

him in death.

Toco began his education in St. Louis Public Schools (Chouteau and L’Ouverture). A graduate of Affton High School, he achieved and received much recognition and honors for his football skills.

As a very young child, Toco expressed wanting to be like Moses. He talked about Moses’ hair turning white as a result of the knowledge he had received. Toco was baptized on April 9, 1978 by Rev. Nathaniel Bland at Compton Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was very active in church as

a youth. He served on the Jr. Usher Board and attended Sunday School, and was called upon often to pray. His favorite story was of David and Jonathan. Strangely, as a child, his favorite hymn was “The Old Rugged Cross”. Although his attendance to church waned as an adult, his belief

in God and his prayer life did not. Toco knew who God was and who God was to him. Thank God; he is covered by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Toco loved his family, and he spent his adult life wanting his family to be proud of him. He loved living life and he loved his Southside community.

If he was your friend, he was a true friend. Serious about his 14 years working at Pepsi, he took pride in his role as union shop steward.

He was excited about his new life goals with Satia.

As his mother, I can truly say that Toco, my son, will endlessly be a part of my being; and I thank and praise God for gifting me with my son. Although gone from physical sight, Earl (Toco) is cherished forever in the hearts of his two sons: Damon (mother Satia) and Earl Jr. (mother Tamara). His mother: Valerie. His sister: Mona (Nate), who gave him a new name “my baby brother”. His niece who’s more like a baby sister: Niyisha (Demetrius) who blessed him with two great-nieces: Kennedy and Reagan. He leaves several, but two “special” aunts: Glori and Deborah. Of his three generations of cousins, he leaves three who are more like his side-by-side siblings: Darrell, Darron, Kasey; and two like baby brothers: Kameron and Darren. A special cousin: Lashanda, and a host of family and friends.
