Todd J. Hamlett

At 12:59pm on Friday February 11th, a slice of joy left the world. Todd J. Hamlett passed away from complications associated with ongoing health issues at the age of 48. Todd was a man focused on his two passions, his family and sports, and it showed in his daily life. Always putting his family and his kids before all else, finding time to not only attend his children’s games, but coach them as well, Todd found a way to focus his life on his loves.

He will be missed by his family, his team, and many friends and acquaintances that found his joyful humor intoxicating, and his company enjoyable. The world is a smaller, grayer place without him.

Within the past few years, Todd Hamlett made peace with God by receiving Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior by faith. His relationship with Christ created a lasting change in his life.

Todd Hamlett was preceded in death by his grandparents C.T. and Elaine Hamlett, and Clarence and Della Jones, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife Melinda Hamlett, his son Dylan, and his daughter Madison, as well as his parents Bob and Midge Hamlett, together with his sister Kim Watford and her husband Stacy Watford, and their daughter Ashley.

Todd had a large extended family that will also miss him. His aunts and uncles Mildred and Don Clark, Larry and Jane Hamlett, in-laws Gene and Vicki McFerron, brother in law Gene McFerron Jr. with Lori with their daughters Sophia, Elizabeth, and Emma, as well as his sister in-law Trish McFerron and her two sons Chase and Nash.

There is an emptiness in all our hearts that we can only temporarily fill by coming together to remember him. Please join us to celebrate Todd’s life from 2-3pm on Saturday February 26th at Calvary Temple Assembly Of God, with a service at 3pm and a continuation of the memorial from 4-5pm.

Todd we grew up together, played baseball and just hung out! I remember watching “Combat”, the TV show late nights on a sleep over. Playing intelivision football or swimming the day away. You will always be a great friend and missed everyday. God speed and until we meet again, rest in peace ❤

My condolences to the entire family. I especially send love and prayers to his mother who has been a longtime friend—beginning at Holmes Bible College in Greenville, SC. She LOVED her family—unconditionally and sacrificially.
Her love for Todd, his wife and children was great. The memories she shared with me about Dylan and Madison are so special. Her prayers for Todd’s healing were answered a little differently than we had hoped for, but the fact that he is healed completely and in Heaven is even greater.
