Ursula Hand

Ursula Frances Hand (nee Bequette), daughter of Irene Julia Pashia and Noah Leo Bequette, Sr., was born December 19, 1940, in Old Mines, Missouri, and departed this life on Sunday, December 10, 2023, with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at her side.

She was united in marriage to Joseph “Wayne” Hand on June 28, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, and gave birth to four daughters: Linda “Jeanette” (Tom) Hencken, Elizabeth “Tootsie” (Jerry) Gibbs, Robin (Craig) Miller, and Gina (Eric) Hand-Eoloff. She is survived by her husband, daughters, thirteen grandchildren (Emily [Darick] Ritter, Julia [Daryl] Balseiro, Matthew [Constance] Gibbs, Anna [Matthew] Devero, John [Cassie] Gibbs, Danielle [CJ] Uberroth, David [Jani] Joyce, Megan Joyce, Jessica Miller, Sophia Miller, Neil [Sara] Eoloff, Allison Eoloff, and Jill Eoloff), six great-grandchildren (Henry and Weston Ritter, Charlotte and Olivia Gibbs, Daisy Martin, and Eleanor Uberroth), and siblings (Rita Hill, Cecilia “Millie” Connor, Maria Donnelly, Noah “Leo” Bequette). She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Rose Mary Cole, Gerald Bequette, Regina Brown, Gerard “Tom” Bequette, and Joan Rasnic.

She was kind, loving, beautiful, intelligent, and always wanted to help other people. Her faith was strong and powerful. She loved her big, wonderful, loud family in so many incredible ways. Her family is grateful that she can now breathe gently.

There will be a Celebration of her life at Little Flower Primary School Hall (1275 Boland Place, 63117) on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Mass to fortify her with the sacraments of the Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Little Flower Catholic Church (1264 Arch Terrace, 63117).

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent as donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Louis, Missouri.
