Wanda Irene Sona

Wanda Iene Sona, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2023 at the age of 80.  She was born on November 11, 1943 in Granite City, IL.

Wanda was homecoming queen as a senior in high school. She loved interior design and decorating. Wanda like to dress up in fancy outfits with matching bag and shoes whenever she went out. Wanda loved the warm weather of Florida and the palm trees. She also enjoyed gardening and fishing. But most of all she loved spending time with her family and she loved the babies. Wanda worked at Thomas Construction for many years until retiring.

Wanda leaves behind her children, Sherri Hendriksen, Jill (Bob) Bales, Jason Rousseau, and Steven (Krista) Wessler; ten grandchildren Amanda, Matt, Emily, Laura, Brooke, Brandon, Blake, Blaze, Ashton, and newborn, Ariana; her great-grandchildren Mason, Ragan, Keelan, Haven, Maddox and Rowan along with many brothers, sisters, and family friends. She is preceded in death by a son, Todd Rousseau.

In lieu of flowers donations to Powell Terrace Food Pantry, 704 Boone Avenue, St. Charles MO 63301 are appreciated.

    Aunt Wanda,
    You were loved more than you ever knew. We will miss you forever. I remember babysitting your kids, my mom and dad taking you out for your 21st birthday, you borrowing my belly dancing costume and so many more things. May you feel the love now. Rest in peace.
