Wendell Jay Craig Jr.

Wendell Jay Craig Jr., 42 passed away peacefully Friday, October 13, 2023 at Town and Country Rehab in Town and Country, MO. He was born March 4, 1981 in Little Rock, AR to Wendell Craig and Tina Meier. He graduated from Wright City High School in 1999. In 2001 he married Jamie Cathleen Doerrer and in 2002, his daughter, Eve Cathleen was born. He received a diploma in Medical Assisting from Sanford Brown College in 2009.

Growing up, Wendell was always active with Tae Kwon Do, playing baseball and basketball. Wendell was a kind, outgoing person who cherished his family and friends. He loved family gatherings and could often be found dancing or doing back flips. He could brighten any room with his infectious smile and was always impeccably dressed. His daughter was the light of his life and was a great source of pride for him. In 2010, an accident severed his spinal cord and he became a quadriplegic.

He struggled for the next 13 years battling infections and illnesses but was blessed to have so many family members and friends who cared for and visited him. He was preceded in death by his wife Jamie. He is survived by his mother, Tina Meier (John), father, Wendell Craig Sr.,brother, Nicholas Craig, daughter, Eve Craig, paternal grandmother Golda Hula, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned for Saturday, October 21 for family and friends from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the home of John and Tina Meier, 257 Millridge Drive, Moscow Mills, MO

    I was one of Wendell’s nurses from 2014-2016. He had a zest for life and his love for his daughter was precious and inspiring. I am so sorry to hear of this news. My condolences to the Craig family and friends.

    Tina and Eve praying you are surrounded by love and happy memories. He was one of my favorites at Sanford Brown and that friendship carried on out of school. Going to miss him.

    I worked at the nursing home he resided at. I remember Wendell. Very cool and funny guy. Deepest condolences to his family. I was so sad to come across this obituary.
