William Whedon

William Whedon, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and adoring grandfather, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025. His presence in the lives of those who knew him was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering belief in the good of people.

William was the beloved husband of Melissa Kolk Whedon, who stood by his side through every joy and challenge life had to offer. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and deep connection. He was a proud father to his children: Victoria Whedon Scott (Nicholas),
William, “Xander” Whedon, and Mikaela “Quinn” Whedon, who carry his wisdom, compassion and warmth forward. His love extended beyond blood, embracing his chosen children, Felix Goldberg, Brianna Nicole Hudson , and Pilar Paniagua, as his own. One of his greatest joys in life
was becoming a grandfather to Alexandria Ray Youmans, whom he adored.

William is also survived by his sisters, Sarah Donovan (James) and Melissa Beyerlein, who shared in his journey and held a deep bond of love and family.

He was predeceased by his mother, Cynthia M. Hein and his father Jonathan H. Hein.

To know William was to feel truly seen and heard. He had a rare gift for conversation, an ability to connect with anyone through open and honest dialogue. His words were never empty; they were filled with encouragement, belief, and an innate understanding of the human spirit. He
collected friends the way some collect treasures—recognizing the value in each soul he encountered and uplifting them with his kindness and sincerity.

William’s legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering faith in the goodness of people. Though his absence leaves an ache in the hearts of those who loved him, his spirit lives on in
the countless lives he touched.

A celebration of William’s life will be held at a The Pavilion at Lemay March 6, 2025 from pm – 7pm) where everyone is welcomed to join friends and family in gathering to honor his memory and share the stories that made him so beloved.

As many of his friends and loved ones are in Kansas, a celebration of life will be held there in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish to honor his memory do so by extending kindness to others, just as William always did.

His love remains, forever woven into the hearts of those he cherished.

What a beautiful tribute of a life well lived. While way too young, it sounds like his impact will be that of someone who lived to 100 years old. Sending love and light to the entire family.
