Yoshiko Crider
Yoshiko (Yosh) Crider, beloved wife of Cecil Crider, passed away peacefully at her home in Saint Charles, Missouri on Monday August 5, 2024 with Cecil by her side. Yosh is survived by her sister-in-laws Naomi Lurhing, Mary Rogers, Gladys Limberg and Thelma Crider, lifelong dear friends Darlene Jones, Elizabeth O’Neil and Linda Reynolds. She was a very special aunt to too many nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and great-great nieces/nephews to mention.
Yosh was born in 1935 in the country of Japan and moved to the United States in 1963 when she married Cecil. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage. In 1982, following years traveling the world with the US Navy and Air Force, Cecil and Yosh retired to Saint Charles to be closer to his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Dot Crider (both deceased). Yosh enjoyed life, cooking fried rice and other Japanese foods, planting lots of flowers, making homemade jelly, attending many quilting and craft shows, decorating for EVERY holiday, playing slots at the casino, providing a huge variety of candy and snacks in her Lake Saint Charles retirement home and was a fierce competitor playing games, cards and bunco! Yosh and Cecil played Yahtzee nearly every day for the last 60 plus years! Yosh was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to honor Yosh at a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, August 20 from 11:00 – 1:00 at Snowensville Chicken and Burgers, 120 S First Street, Owensville MO. The event space can be entered from the back parking lot. Lunch will be served at 11:30.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Japanese Garden at Missouri Botanical Gardens or the American Cancer Society.
