Mary Majella(Lampe) Aita

Mary Majella (Lampe) Aita, 62, of St. Louis, passed away the morning of Friday, March 5, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Mary was born on April 16, 1958, to George and Laura (Meyer) Lampe in Glennonville, Missouri. After graduating salutatorian from Campbell High School, Mary spent a short time in Germany with her sisters before moving to St. Louis. While working and raising her family, she continued her education and earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Saint Louis University. She was currently employed as a Senior Support Specialist at Edward Jones.

She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. Her greatest joys came from spending time with her family and friends, poetry, reading and writing, volunteering, making birthdays and holidays extra special for children and grandchildren, traveling, planting trees, and working.

Survivors include:

Her children: Emilio Aita and his wife, Janie; Mary Foshage and her husband, Bernard John; Laura Bauer and her husband, Bob; and George Aita.

Eight grandchildren: Antonio, Sebastian, Raphael, Mariana, Gemma Rose, Rocco, Gabriel, and Joseph.

Her siblings: Glenda Peterson, Maurice Lampe, Janis Humberd, Geralyn Peterson, Janelle Mahon, Laura Jean Shaffer, and Georgene Modlin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Terry Lampe, and nieces, Megan Mahon, Melissa Lampe and Corina Sherman and her nephew, Jason Hof, along with many other dear aunts, uncles and cousins.

The memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday March 13, 2021 at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. There will be a private family burial at a later date. Donations may be made to the Megan Ann Mahon Memorial at https://meganmahon.org/how-you-can-help/donate/.

She was our rock and will be dearly missed for the rest of our days.

Many happy evenings spent pursuing (and achieving) victory at trivia tournaments with Mary and friends. Love to all her great family.
