Mary Ann T. Bockskopf (nee Rothermich), age 81, of St. Louis, MO; Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church, passed away with her husband and children by her side on April 9, 2021.

She was devoted to her Catholic faith and her Holy Mother. She was born on March 12, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. She was married to the love of her life,Raymond C. Bockskopf, Sr for 56 years. Beloved mother of 5children, Raymond Jr. (Lisa), Elizabeth (Mark) Beck, John (Jill), Timothy (Megan) and William (Kelsey); loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Zachary, Alison, Adam, Nicholas, Kasandra, Matthew, Hunter, Abigail, Logan and Margaret. She is survived by her siblings, Paul (Clara) Rothermich, Jane (Dan) McCulley and Thomas (Louise) Rothermich, brother-in-law Reverend Richard Bockskopf. Dear aunt to 5 nephews, 2 nieces and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Adelbert F. and Thecla C. Rothermich and two sisters Virginia Marie (infant) and Catherine Arlean (infant).

Mary Ann was a life time member (71 years) of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, a true South St. Louis resident. She started grade school at St. Mary Magdalene and transferred to OLS in third grade where she graduated. She graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1959. Mary Ann and Ray were married at OLS, where 4 of their children were baptized, all 5 children attended school, and 3 of the children were also married. Mary Ann was a member of the Pius X Club, OLS Women’s Guild, volunteered for OLS Picnic, CYC and fish fries. She served as a Den Leader for Pack 51, Scout Leader for Troop 51 and was active at the district level where she received the Thunderbird District Award of Merit. Her scouts were her other sons and she loved them all.

Prior to having children, Mary Ann worked for Edison Brothers Shoes where she met her life-long friends. She loved and cared for countless children over the years and held them dear to her heart. Mary Ann also worked at Clancy’s Market and later at Target. Mary Ann enjoyed collecting, crafts, gardening, baking, decorating for the holidays and crocheting. She will be remembered for her beautiful crochet work and was crocheting in the last days of her life; completing a jacket to wear on Easter. She was also working on an afghan for her grandson to take to college and had made afghans for every grandchild as well as future grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Our Lady of Sorrows Parish Endowment Fund or the
American Cancer Society.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows, 5020 Rhodes Ave (63109). Visitation, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be Private.
