Linda S. Blough
Linda S. Blough, 80, passed away in the early morning of Monday, July 12, 2021. Linda was born to the late Woodrow and Bertha (King) Lackey in St. Louis, Missouri on July 29, 1940.
Linda wed Charlie Blough June 2, 1962 and together they celebrated 59 years of marriage. Linda obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1988 and retired after 24 years. She worked at both Methodist Hospital and OSF in Peoria, IL. She also received advanced training from Emory University in Atlanta, GA and finished her career as a Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse.
In addition to nursing, Linda had a passion for missions, both locally and abroad. She was a faithful member at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria for over 40 years where she served as WMU director, Sunday school teacher, Treasurer, Mission Friends teacher, as well as serving in countless other areas throughout the years. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and family and telling stories about her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Charlie of The Villages, FL; daughters, Beverly (Daniel) Reese of Lexington, KY; Lisa Blough Dailey of Orland Park, IL; Amy (Mark) Blough Brosch of Chicago Ridge, IL; and Diana (James) Menne of Madison, AL as well as 7 grandchildren: Alexander and Andrew Reese, Connor, Spencer and Hope Dailey, Aidan and Luke Menne. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine Camp.
Milward Funeral Directors are entrusted with Mrs. Blough’s service arrangements. A memorial celebration will be held on Thursday, July 15th at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior at Centenary United Methodist Church in Lexington, KY. Her internment will take place in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, July 17th. A visitation will be held at St. Louis Cremation on Chouteau Avenue from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Mount Hope Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
In honor of her legacy, Linda’s family would like memorial contributions directed to First Baptist Church of Leesburg, FL, missions fund or Illinois Baptist State Association/mission Illinois.
