Gloria Clark
Gloria Jean Clark, age 68, of Bridgeton, died on Tuesday August 19 from complications of a brain tumor.
She was born on August 13, 1940 in Warrenton, MO, the daughter of the late Zack Leake and Evelyn Reed Leake. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by brother Jack Leake. She is survived by loving companion of 30 years Sandy J. Schneider. Also surviving is sister Cherie Ahlquist of California; daughter Stephanie A. Gabriel and husband Tony of Edwardsville, IL; two sons: Carroll H. Clark, III of Denver, CO and David B. Clark and wife Rosina of Overland, MO; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Gloria was briefly in the Marine Corp and married to the late Warrant Officer Carroll H. Clark Jr USMC (Ret.) She had a masters in English – thesis pending – from SIUE in Edwardsville. She retired from ITT Credit Corp. Gloria was a woodworker and built furniture and was an artist, painter, and could sew anything.
She had a brillant and inquiring mind with a rapier wit – an extremely creative person. She had sensible and almost always the right advise for anyones problems. And finally, had a sharp sense of the business world, and a voracious reader of all sorts of books.
