Ronald Edward Shaver

Ronald Edward Shaver was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 31, 1958, to George and Alice (nee Zegarski) Shaver. He attended and graduated from Fort Zumwalt High School in 1976. He lived in OFallon all of his life where he became active as a volunteer firefighter as an engineer and EMT for many years. On December 21, 1984, he married Lisa Townsend and they were blessed with 3 children: Sarah, Dominic, and Sam.

He was a member of the City of OʻFallon’s Parks Board for many years and loved volunteering for the Heritage and Freedom Festival for the 4th of July and for Celebration of Lights in December. Ron also was a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Ron was preceded in death by his parents: George and Alice Shaver and is survived by his three brothers: Robert, Rick, and Roy; his former wife Lisa; their three children: Sarah (Dave) Cousino, Dominic Shaver, and Sam Shaver; granddaughter Gwen Cousino; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

On August 19, 2021, at age 63, Ron joined his parents in the arms of our Lord.

A memorial service will be held on September 4, 2021, at King of Kings Lutheran Church Chesterfield, MO at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.

    I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Ron was a wonderful person who always put a smile on my face. I enjoyed working with him at the City of O’Fallon. He will be missed. Prayers for Ron and for you and your family.

    Prays to all of you. I was on parks board for many years with Ron and worked many events with him as well. He was a very good man still can’t believe he is gone. So blessed to have met him.

    I was so sad to hear of Ron’s passing, I worked with Ron for a couple of years, he was fun to be around, he always had a good joke to tell. My thoughts and prayers are with all of Ron’s family.
