John W Pfaff

John W Pfaff, 78, of Manchester, Missouri died on September 17, 2021 at home surrounded by loved ones.

The son of William Henry and Pearl Florence Pfaff, John was born in St. Louis on November 23, 1942. John graduated from Lutheran Central High School in St. Louis, and received his degree in architecture from Oklahoma State University. He proudly served his country for two years in the US Army while stationed in Germany.

John formed Pfaff Partnership: Architects & Planners. In semi-retirement he worked at Henty+Pfaff & Associates, Architects. He found love and companionship with Ester (Jhenny) Pfaff, whom he married in 2005, and by whom he is survived.

In addition, he is survived by son Mark and grandchildren Mark and Matthew, daughter Mandy all of San Diego and step-son Anthony of Florida; sister, Joan Houska (Chuck); brothers Fred, Tom, Bill (Margaret) and Rick (Kim) all of Texas.

John became fascinated with family history and spent numerous hours in scouring records and verifying names, birth, death, and marriage dates. He created an eleven generation Pfaff family tree from Groß Umstadt, Germany dating back to S1682.

While we will miss him here on this earth, we know his spirit is now at peace with his Father in Heaven.

A memorial will be held at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00am.

The family of John Pfaff would like to express the deepest of gratitude to the staff of St. Luke’s Hospice Care and the staff of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for their hardwork, guidance, and care during these difficult times.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Lutheran Hour or the American Cancer Society.

John, I remember that Ed and I lived not far from you when you were stationed in Germany. I believe we even had you over for dinner. I also remember that we met you at Ludwigsburg Castle which was close to where you were stationed. I have a picture of Ed and I and Robbyn in the castle and you took the picture.
    You will be missed

All my prayers and thoughts are with you John and your family. You were a wonderful person in high school and have no doubts that you were still that wonderful person when you left to go home to our Father!
