Terry Michael Monroe
Terry Michael Monroe was born in the heart of St. Louis, Missouri on October 24, 1953, to his loving parents Loren and Mary Monroe. He was the youngest of three children. Himself being the only son, along with his two older sisters.
Raised in South City of St. Louis, Terry was seen achieving his education at Sherman for grade school and achieving his high school diploma at Roosevelt High. Although enjoying many of life’s adventures Terry was seen as a young child enjoying the simple pleasures of hanging out with the neighborhood children where he found one of his first loves, baseball. Growing up in his teens he added music and cooking to that list of loves as he could be seen cooking with his mother and jamming out to some of his favorite musical artists; The Beatles, Iggy Pop, and Jethro Tull to name a few out of thousands. Later down the road in Terry’s journey of life he would then pass down many of his favorite hobbies to children of his own. Although ending some of his best days cheering on his favorite sport teams on the television, jamming to those favorite jams on you tube, cooking up his favorite recipes, there was one love that he seemed to put before the rest and that was the love he had for his family and being what is known as the provider.
Terry Monroe was seen building a job resume at a young age, where Terry could be seen delivering the news papers of South City St. Louis on his route as a paper boy. He also then continued to gain other job experiences as a guide for horseback riding, working the barges of the Mississippi river, deacon of a church, and ending his final career as one of the head maintenance men in refrigeration at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
Terry’s health was seen slowly declining back in the year 2015 when Terry found himself battling lung cancer. Although beating cancer Terry’s health never seemed to make a full comeback. Nonetheless, even with his health issues, Terry remained strong until the day he was seen saying his final goodbye on September 03, 2021, exactly two weeks from the day his wife of 36 years said her final goodbye. Terry is now reunited by love with his wife, parents, and many of his former pets. Terry leaves behind a number of loved ones including his son Matt Monroe, his daughter Alicia Monroe, 2 Sisters Linda Sumner and Pat Walden, 2 Sister in laws Suzie Engle and Donna Priester, 4 brother in laws Marc Sumner, Chip Walden, John Engle, and Bob Priester, 3 nieces Lori Labrier, Amanda Priester, and Jessica Reckers, 3 handsome grandsons Aiden Droney, Max, and Ryan Monroe, and a number of other family members and friends who were more like family. Although no funeral will be scheduled a celebration of life visitation is to be announced. Although much pain is being felt by the loss of Terry Monroe, his love for all will never be forgotten!
