Richard John Dittmann

Richard (Rich) John Dittmann, 63, of High Ridge died unexpectedly on Jan. 8, 2022.

Born July 25, 1958 in St. Louis, Rich was a 1976 graduate of St. Pius X High School and retired from the Bricklayers Local No. 1 of Missouri. Rich was a key volunteer with St. Martin of Tours Athletic Association for years where he coached, participated in fundraisers and physically contributed to many site improvements. After moving to High Ridge, he continued volunteering as a member of the Knights of Columbus Post #8588, the ACTS program of St. Anthony of Padua, High Ridge, and Our Lady Queen of Peace, House Springs, and with St. Vincent de Paul Society. He enjoyed bowling, ping pong, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

He was the son of the late Joan (DeGunia) and Sebastian Dittmann and is survived by his only daughter, Catrina (Tom) McFarland; his two sons, Anthony (Taylor) Dittmann and Andrew Dittmann; his partner Mary Sutton; his grandchildren, Makenzie, Michael, Matthew, Madelyn and Sebastian; his five brothers: Jim, Paul, Dan, Mike, and Tim; plus many, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Celebration of life will be Saturday, Jan. 29, 10 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours, 610 W Ripa Ave, St. Louis. Reception immediately following in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Vincent de Paul Society at St Anthony’s Church 3009 High Ridge Blvd High Ridge, MO 63049 Attn: St Vincent DePaul.

    Rich was a keeper! Kind-hearted and loved life. He was always so proud of his kids and grandkids. The fun we had “coaching” is unforgettable. Now he can rest

    I remember we were at Rich’s house and he’s my great uncle and I did the string in the ear trick basically like put an invisible string in one ear and you tell him to pull it out the other really hard and so you slap them it’s supposed to be a light slap but I full-on slapped him full force we all had a great laugh out of it but I was eight at the time
