Scott Schaefer

Scott Henry Schaefer, 47, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 15, 2022, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. He was born in St. Louis, MO on May 31, 1974, to the parents of Charles and Judy (nee Lux) Schaefer.

Scott is survived by his son, Kyle; his mother Judy Schaefer, his brother John Schaefer and sisters Christine Bira (Dave) and Kelly Haines; as well as many loving nephews, niece, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Eugene Schaefer.

Scott was a member of the Laborers International Union – Local #110 in St Louis. He loved animals, the outdoors and most notably the time spent camping, fishing and other outdoor activities with his son Kyle. He was a loving son, brother and father.

We are most grateful for the exceptional care provided by the Barnes-Jewish Hospital team who were so caring and compassionate, especially Dr. Jeff Haspel, MD, PhD and Dr. Andrew Alter, MD. Scott passed away due to Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and other medical complications. May your pain be gone, and your angel wings allow you to fly free.

To all of those who offered prayers and support, thank you. Scott will be remembered by his family at a private Celebration of Life on April 2, 2022 and a final memorial at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/ways-to-give?form=FUNELYZXFBW or Kyle’s college “GoFundMe” account https://gofund.me/6930f62a.

Scott had a smile and a laugh that would make strangers feel warm & comfortable. Thankful I got to have him as my cousin. So many wonderful memories growing up. Holidays, barbeques, and weeks at the clubhouse with our grandparents. I’m thankful he is no longer in pain! I’m so very sorry for the loss! Prayers for all his family.
