Ray Behrendes

Ray H. Behrendes, February 17, 1938 to March 19, 2022.

Ray Behrendes passed at home peacefully in his sleep March 19, 2022. Beloved husband of Audrey Behrendes (née Scheulen) for 48 years. Cherished father of Mike and Mark and proud grandpa of Cam Brown (his best buddy).  Dear brother to Betty Hibler and the late Grace Behrendes. Loving uncle, cousin, Brother-in-law and friend too many.

He enjoyed the simple things in life. Taking walks with Audrey, watching the Blues and Cardinals with his boys and especially being Cams number 1 fan at all of his basketball and football games. Ray liked sharing many of his stories with his co-workers as a driver for Enterprise Leasing. The life Ray chose to live was a wonderful example of how to be honest, positive and courageous. He gave immeasurable love to his family that will continue to be felt forever.

A Celebration of Life In Warrenton Missouri will be announced later.

Special thanks for the wonderful care from SSM Cancer Care on Kisker Road.

    Dear Audrey,

Last time I saw you was in October, 2010, when you attended my husband’s wake, much appreciated. I remember Ray and think of him when I see the Christmas trees inside Plaza Frontenac!
You have now joined the club no one wants to join….. May you be comforted by your faith and all the good memories you have had with Ray.

    Your old teaching buddy,

    Sherry Tyree

I just found out this morning.
My sincerest sympathies to you Audrey, Mark, Mike and family.
The name of Ray brings back a flood of great memories of many good times.
Ray always lifted the spirit of people up around him, always so positive. I have missed running into him in the neighborhood ever since you relocated to New Town.
    Your friend
