Derek Michael Pratt
Derek Michael Pratt, of St. Louis passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the age of 44 from a car accident.
Derek was born June 10, 1977 to Amerson Pratt Jr. and Susan (Hegel) Pratt in Newport News, Virginia. He was the beloved husband of Kelly (Pinkerton) Pratt and loving father of Trey Pratt (Kenzie Giorgi), Paige Pratt, and Dylan Pratt. Derek was a loving brother to Carissa (Pratt) Altman (Andrew Altman), Loving uncle, nephew and friend to many.
Derek was a skilled tradesman working as a union painter out of local 115/(46). He worked for Jos. Ward Painting Co. his entire career as a union painter.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at Oakville Elks Lodge on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm located at 2726 Oakville Elks Ln, St. Louis, MO 63129.
Rest In Peace brother. You will be dearly missed by many!

You were an amazing man, husband to my sister, father to my nephews and niece, and you will be missed dearly. I love you so much for being you and for everything you have accomplished. Taken from us too early but until we meet again Derek. You will always be in my heart, my thoughts….forever.
Derek was a wonderful friend and neighbor. He was always there for our family if we needed a helping hand. We cannot express in words how much he meant to us. He will be missed but never forgotten! God bless Derek and watch over his wonderful family.
Derek was such a sweet neighbor. Always greeted us with a smile asking how we were. Derek played in several of our church’s mission golf tournaments to raise money for world missions with Dave and our sons. I will miss seeing him every morning when we leave for work and every evening when we returned home. We will miss our back yard conversations as we grilled or BBQ’d or watched him playing with his dogs. He was stolen from us all and we will continue to pray for his family to receive peace and comfort knowing how much Derek was loved and how much he will be missed! We are so so sorry for your terrible loss! We are here if you need anything!

It will be little things that we remember—smiles, laughter—and although it is hard right now, the memories of these things will become tools to push away the pain.
We didn’t know Derek that well, but we love the little we knew. That big smile will stay in our memories. We are a few steps away, if you need anything.
I have a fond memory of Derek when he was young running around at my daughters 2 year birthday party. And many other as I have been friends with his aunt Shari since we were in high school. He was such a great person, and wonderful husband. My family has your family in our thoughts and prayers.
