Marsha Knupp

Marsha Ann Knupp, 68, of Grand Tower, Illinois, passed away on May 7, 2022 at Evelyn’s House Hospice in Creve Coeur, Missouri, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Marsha was born on October 31, 1953 to Alta Jean Erhardt and Marshall Erhardt in East St. Louis, IL. Marsha graduated from Cahokia High School in 1971,

After graduation, Marsha married Lawrence R. Vanover, Jr., and together they had two daughters, Heather Renee (Steven) Hickman, in 1974 and Lori Ann (James) Herron, in 1979.  Marsha was an active Room Mother, Girl Scout Leader, and devoted wife and mother.

Later, Marsha met James Douglas “Doug” Knupp of Grand Tower, IL.  After they wed in 2001, Marsha happily gained a son, Jamie (Dina) Knupp and daughter, Darla (Jason) Harris,

Marsha worked at Sam’s Club in St. Louis, and later at Dyno Nobel in Wolf Lake, IL.  However, Marsha’s greatest joy was her family.  She was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, and best mother.  Marsha loved her dog Diego and lived for her grandchildren: Kyliegh Jo and Jaci Lynn Harris; Breanna Hickman, Sydney Hickman, and Samuel Bradley Lindley; Zachary Marcus Herron, Bryce Kevin Herron, and twins Wyatt Marshall and Eleanor Claire Herron.

She was a generous friend, much-loved cousin, and favorite aunt.   She loved animals and loved to play the slots; Marsha loved to entertain, and was an exceptional hostess.  She will be deeply missed.
Marsha was predeceased by her parents Alta and Marshall, her husband, Doug, and her grandson Dakota Harris.

Per Marsha’s request, she will be privately laid to rest at Walker Hill Cemetery, Grand Tower, IL.  Memorials may be made in Marsha’s name to Evelyn’s House Hospice Center.
