Roger (“Rick”) Charles Kaufmann, Jr., Commander, USN (Ret), passed away on May 31, 2022, at age 74. 

Rick was the beloved husband of Martha Kaufmann; brother to Kurt, Tamara, Chris, Mark, and Matthew; father to Nathan Charles (wife Hillary), Chad Michael (wife Chantia), and Aaron John (wife Lisa), and grandfather to Jakob and Hadley Brynn; Alexis, Tyler, Haydn, and Fletcher; and Breccan and Calvin. 

Rick was a retired Navy Commander and a Vietnam Veteran.  During his years of service, Rick was a recipient of the Naval Reserve Meritorious Medal, Naval Reserve Commendation Medal, National Defense Metal, Vietnam Service Metal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Sea of Japan).  His training included Nuclear Weapons Orientation, Electronic Warfare Officer/Supervisor Course, Celestial Navigation, and Emergency Ship Handling School.  Rick worked in HVAC and Energy Efficiency with HVAC contractors and Laclede Gas (n/k/a Spire) where he retired from. 

Rick was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and camping.
