On June 24, 2022 Duane Thomas Erwin passed away suddenly at the age of 82. 

Duane proudly served in the US Navy. After retiring from TWA in 1999, Duane enjoyed traveling, boating, and seeking adventure with his wife of 24 years, Joane (nee Guffey). Always excited to learn new things Duane was a life-long learner, including a passion for computing and horticulture. Happy to enjoy a smile and a laugh, Duane made friends wherever he went. He loved to share a joke (think inappropriate Dad Jokes) with family and friends.  He never met a stranger he didn’t like, and he will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing him.

Duane will be missed by many friends and family especially his children, Geoffrey Erwin (Alix), Cheryl Heslington (Max), Mary Sander (Robert), Gregory Lumma (Alissa), Scott Lumma and Steven (Veronica) Lumma. Duane was a loving grandfather to Kieran Erwin, Shayla Tomesello, Mason Heslington, Grant, Joshua and Gabbi Sander, Anthony and Jackson Lumma, Devin and Olivia Lumma, Adrienne, Autumn and Ashten Lumma.
