Susan Marie Slazinik
July 7, 1952 – August 3, 2022
Susan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On August 3, 2022,
Susan passed away leaving behind many loved ones and fond memories.
Susan spent most of her life since childhood in Brentwood, Missouri. She attended Brentwood
schools where she met many lifelong friends and the love of her life, John Slazinik, Jr.
Following high school, Susan attended nursing school.
Susan spent many years caring for newborn children during her career as a Registered Nurse.
She worked in the special care nursery at St. Luke’s Hospital and Missouri Baptist Medical
Center. After leaving the hospitals, Susan found a new path working for Nurses for Newborns
and providing initial care to new babies and support for their mothers. Nothing gave her more
joy than holding those babies for the first time.
Susan was preceded in death by her loving husband John, her parents George and Martha White,
and her brother James White.
Susan is survived by her sons, Andrew, Scott, Timothy, and Benjamin; daughters-in-law, Denise,
Katie, and Leah; her grandchildren, Andrew (AJ), Morgan, Shaina, Laura, and Amanda; her
siblings, Carol Lee, George White Jr, and William White; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per her wishes, Susan will be cremated and laid to rest with her husband at Jefferson Barracks
National Cemetery. Arrangements have yet to be finalized and will be announced at a later date.

    I will miss Sue’s sweet, loving view of life-always a kind word, and positive thoughts for all.

    She truly had a special connection with babies and Moms, and I know she will be missed and remembered by all those she has helped along the way.

    Praying for the boys and hope their grief is tempered by the the wonderful memories they share of their Mom.

    We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Sue. She will always be remembered as a kind and loving person. She helped me so much when Nicole was born prematurely. She was a true friend. We will always remember her help and love. We pray for her boys and daughter in laws. May the Lord bless you all and console you.

    I am so sorry to read of Susan’s death. I worked with her at St Luke’s and she was a wonderful coworker. She was funny, spontaneous and loved her sons. Just thinking if her now makes me smile.

    I am just hearing of this and it breaks my heart Sue was the first nurse I had with nurses for newborn and every child after that I requested her to be my child’s nurse she was very loving and caring and I just so happen to try to look her up very sad truly missed amazing person all around the board. Anything I ever needed for my child she made she we had it. I appreciated everything she has ever done for me she was never late for an appointment and always gave me great advice . You will be missed .
