Anna Cawley, 95, of Collinsville, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2022 in her home
surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 22, 1927 in St. Louis, Mo. A daughter of the late
Thomas and Margaret (Longo) Gregali. She was married to James H. Caudron Sr. from February 8,
1945 until James’ death in 1978. On May 3, 1986, Anna married William (Bill) A. Cawley at the
former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City. Anna was a member of SS. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church in Collinsville, IL. She was a Red Hat Lady where she enjoyed food and fellowship
with her friends. She enjoyed traveling, participating in the Senior Olympics, all things fashion,
playing cards, square dancing, bowling, casino trips, and Sunday movie dates. Her most treasured
moments were time spent with her loved ones at family gatherings. She cherished her family and
will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, and sense of humor. She is survived by her spouse
William Cawley of Collinsville, IL., sister-in-law Virginia Gregali of Imperial, Mo, children Sandra
Wingrove of Waterloo, Il, Cheryl Winfield of Granite City, Il, John (Deborah) Caudron of Troy, Il.,
Susan (Paula) Strauss of Buffalo, NY, Margaret Chenault of Granite City, IL, and daughter-in law
Connie Caudron of New Bern, NC. In addition to her children, she is survived by 17 grandchildren,
Eric Wingrove, Christine Schiller, Renee (Bruce) Widel, James (Heather) Wingrove, Jennifer
Winfield, Mark (Megan) Winfield, Gregory (Sonia) Winfield, granddaughter-in-law Christina
Winfield, John (Michelle) Meyer, Jennifer Caudron, Bradley (Kelle) Caudron, Sarah (Ray) Smith,
Daniel (Sue) Strauss, Dawn (Jimmy) Duren, Maggie (Drew) Chenault, Ian (Jerzie) Chenault, Anna
Caudron, Jo (Sean) Ferguson. She is also survived by many great grandchildren, great-great
grandchildren, nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by a husband James H. Caudron Sr., son James H. Caudron Jr., son-in-law,
Douglas Winfield, grandson Corey Winfield, grandsons Lucas and John Caudron Jr., two sisters
and brothers-in-law, Sophia and Charles Beckham, Theresa and Anthony Tabacchi, three brothers
and a sister in law Joseph Gregali, Anthony and Rosie Gregali, and Joey Gregali. In celebration of
her life, a funeral mass will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church , 207 Vandalia Street,
Collinsville, IL 62234, Monday September 19, 2022. Doors will open at 12pm for family and
12:30pm for friends, with mass beginning at 1pm. A luncheon will be held after mass at Lifepoint
Church 1701 St. Louis Rd. Collinsville, IL 62234. A private family burial will be held at a later date
at Jefferson Barrack’s National Cemetery.
