Passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at the age of 78.  

Bob was born in Winfield, Kansas on August 5, 1944.  He grew up and spent some later years on the family farm in Towanda, Kansas.  He graduated from Wichita State University with a B.B.A. in Accounting and pursued a financial management career, first as a CPA and later as a Reinsurance Officer.  He lived for many years in the San Francisco, CA area and later in Wausau, WI before eventually settling in St. Louis, MO.

Bob was a life-long pianist and a competitive bridge player.  He loved classical music and the arts, often attending the symphony and the theatre.  Bob was an avid sports fan of professional and college athletics. He joyfully cheered on many teams, especially the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals as a season ticket holder after following them for years on KMOX radio as he grew up in Kansas.

A deeply spiritual person throughout his life, Bob extended love to others as a minister of the Soul-Esteem Center for many years and by facilitating metaphysical groups and workshops, especially those focused on principles of “A Course in Miracles”.

The Christmas holidays were a special time for Bob especially when he could travel to spend time with his daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

A cat-lover; his close companion, Einstein and litter-mate, Bandit will miss him, as will so many others who loved his gentle nature and sweet smile. 

Bob is survived by his long-time significant other, Barbara Eckard; his daughters, Peggy (Brian) Turrel and Nancy DelaBarre ; his grandchildren: Jared Turrel, Hannah DelaBarre, Diane Turrel, Margaret Turrel, and Peter Turrel; his sister, Carolyn Nissim; his niece, Jennifer Nissim and many cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Haldeen Brown and Wilma Louise Edmiston.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Center for Spiritual Living, 12875 Fee Fee Rd, St. Louis, MO 63146.  In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bob’s memory to your favorite charity.
