Linda Jean Jokerst (Danner)
Linda was born on June 12th, 1952 as the eldest of three daughters to Robert and Jean Danner in St. Louis, MO. Linda attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts from Maryville University in St. Louis. After graduation she worked as a calligrapher of architectural lettering for blueprints and later did interior design before choosing to remain home to raise her children.
Linda and Tom met in 1970 where Tom was her date for senior prom, set up by common friends. They were married in 1973. They have a daughter, Karen, and a son, Tommy. Linda enjoyed the arts, traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family. While entertaining family and friends she would play games/cards, tell stories, and laugh. She would teach her children and grandchildren how to cook, sew, various art projects, work on puzzles, and help them with schoolwork. She was always very supportive and lovingly involved with her family.
Some of her favorite hobbies and things: Cards/games, cooking, big hugs, back scratches, volunteering at the grade school and high school, The Amazing Race, Oprah, Days of Our Lives, Hallmark Christmas movies, Cher, margaritas, crab cakes, seafood, Mexican food, flamingos, Santa decorations, seashells, walking on the beach, family vacations, cruises, the family pets, sleepovers with her granddaughters, coffee, coloring, Sudoku puzzles, coupons, and sleeping in.
Linda was predeceased by her dad and mom, Robert and Jean Danner, along with one of her younger sisters Barbara Saitta, and her brother-in-law Jim McGrath.
She is survived by her husband Tom Jokerst, her daughter Karen (Jack) Bridges, her son Tommy (Anne) Jokerst, her granddaughters Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Grace and Josie, her sister Sharon (Tom) Schwarztrauber, her brother-in-law Bob Saitta, her sister-in-law Nancy McGrath, her niece and nephews Amy (Stuart) Meyer, Bobby (Alicia) Saitta, Paul (Ashley) Saitta, her great nephews and niece August, Brad, Nathan, Jonathan, and Olivia, her many cousins, extended family and friends.
Services will be held at Mary, Mother of the Church (5901 Kerth Road) on Thursday, November 10th. Visitation at 9:15a in the church vestibule followed by a memorial service at 10:30a.
