Patsy Ruth Frost
Patsy Ruth Frost
1937 – 2022
Patsy Ruth “Pat” Frost (nee Spain) passed away on December 6, 2022, following health
complications after her successful hip replacement.
On October 21, 1937, Patsy became the first-born to her parents Howard and Ruie Spain
in Malden, Missouri. She is survived by her four children Robert Frost, Vicky McMullan,
Cindy Kroeger, and Jeff (Loni) Frost and their families. She was known as “Granny” to
her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step grandchildren. She is also
survived by four of her siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
It is difficult to convey all the ways that Pat influenced the people in her life, but she was
a true artist in many ways. She was the most amazing seamstress – creating barbie doll
clothes and untold numbers of costumes from scratch, fully upholstering car seats, boat
covers, and you name it – designing drapes galore and reupholstering a myriad of
furniture over her lifetime. She helped instruct and carry on the seemingly lost tradition
of making handmade quilts. Perhaps her best-known project was fabricating the drapes
that are still hanging in the National Statuary Hall in Washington, D.C. Her newfound
hobby over recent years was learning to do pencil drawings and painting. Without a
doubt, her love and care will be greatly missed.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
A wonderful cousin. RIP
