finding the words have been harder this time.

thank you for all the memories and the laughs and the late night talks about life and guidance that you really just got thrown into.
for not ever having kids of your own you were an incredible father. I can’t imagine getting thrown into a 14 year old girls life and having people expect you to know what you’re doing, but for the most part, you did. You got mad with me when I was upset, you laughed with me when I was happy. You were there through all my firsts, my first relationship, my first car, my first day of high school.
You were there for some of the bad firsts too, my first breakup, my first failed test, my first fight with a friend, and still, at the end of the day, knew what to say.
I know you are finally at rest and peace. Thank you for your love and your time.
For everyone that knew you and from myself—
    Thank you
    Mike “Bubba” Stansbury.
