Vicki Lynn (Mouchett) Burke

Vicki Lynn (Mouchett) Burke, age 70, passed peacefully on February 11, 2023 at home with her loving husband and son after a long illness. Vicki was the wife of Tom Burke of Eureka, MO, mother of Sean Patrick Burke of St. Louis, Mo and Sarah Burke of Fulton, MO. She graduated from SEMO with a degree in Business and had a long successful career in banking. She also worked as Director of Development with the Mary Ryder Home and was a special events consult with her husband at TJ Burke Consulting where they were successful at raising funds for Jefferson College Foundation.

Vicki was an excellent cook excelling in sumptuous desserts. She had a large collection of cookbooks and enjoyed preserving and passing on family recipes. She loved her family, entertaining friends, wine and travel. Vicki sought to be a master sommelier, being able to identify various notes of wines from all over the world. She was a fan of Bruce Springsteen, enjoyed hockey, and supported the arts. She loved to laugh and liked a good joke. Despite Vicki’s constant struggles with illnesses throughout her life, she lived life with vigor and love. She could be seen wearing “Life is Good” apparel on most days. Vicki was a firm believer in helping out those who were less fortunate, dedicating her life to helping others who needed it most. To honor her, we ask that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.

Vicki was proceeded in death by her mother Lynn Dempster of Sikeston, Missouri, father Stanley Mouchett, and sister Paulette Mouchett of Mississippi. She is survived by her husband Thomas Burke, her son Sean Patrick Burke and daughter Sarah Burke and Sarah’s children Ciera Kelly and Tyler Kelly, her sister Pam Waltrip (Bill) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and their children Kimberly and Aaron, Brother- In-Law Joe Burke (Deb) and their children Anna (Brian) King of Wildwood, Missouri and Ryan Chester of St. Louis, Missouri.

She will be celebrated at a 10:30 mass at Most Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eureka, with visitation preceding the mass beginning at 9:30 on Saturday, February 25, 2023. Private burial at a later date.

    Tom and family – sending you and your family love and sympathy on Vicki‘s passing. I always loved getting together with you guys and sampling Vicki‘s wonderful treats. She was an amazing cook and baker. I pray your sorrow will pass quickly and you will be left with wonderful memories of your beautiful wife and mother.

    Tom and family, I am deeply saddened to know of Vicki’s passing. You and Vicki we close neighbors. Vicki was a chief after her own heart, Her love for cooking and desserts were out of this world. Spending time with you darling around your kitchen table visiting and laughing brought delight to our souls. You were a fighter in your illnesses and approached the end of your earthly life line with dignity and grace. You will be sorrowfully missed buy your family and friends.
    I know the Lord has you in His kitchen cooking up a storm of goodies for Him! L loved you girl!

    Tom & Family – It is with great sadness that we learned of Vicki’s passing. We have made a donation in loving memory of Vicki to the American Cancer Society.
