Leo Daniel Spink Jr.

Leo passed away peacefully 2:57 PM on February 16, 2023 at the age of 66. He was born in St. Louis, MO on November 9, 1956.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Leo D. Spink and Maybell (Randall) Spink.

Leo is survived by his loving wife of 40+ years Joan Finnegan-Spink.

He will be remembered by his daughter Colleen Spink-Heath and husband Joshua Heath, his son Daniel J. Spink and partner Marlee Ellison, his sister Janet Spink, and a large, extended, and loving family in St. Louis.

Leo was a proud member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 1345 for more than 34 years. When he wasn’t hard at work with his brothers and sisters in the shop, he was raising a family with his loving wife Joan. Throughout his life he found beauty in the simple things. Leo enjoyed fishing, grilling with the family, a cup of coffee on his deck during sunrise, and all of his favorite activities that St. Louis has to offer. Whether it be a visit to the Missouri Botanical Garden, trips him and the family took to Alton, IL, visiting Main Street in St. Charles, and vineyards on the countryside, these places all hold a special place in all of our hearts. Since his retirement in 2021, he especially enjoyed Saturdays with his wife, where they went treasure-hunting around the many antique shops and thrift stores in the St. Louis area. Leo’s time on Earth has been a treasure and a gift received by many. He’ll continue to live on forever in our hearts and minds.

A celebration of Leo’s life for family and friends to attend will be scheduled at a later date.

Leo was a wonderful guy. Marlee always talked about him fondly and she felt welcome in the family. I hope you all find comfort in the many memories shared with him. May he rest in peace.
